MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL"

"I am very pleased and proud
of the students of the Church
College of Western Samoa. I
am proud of your achievements
this past year.

Our goals of life are directed
toward perfection of ourselves
and our loved ones. This can
only be obtained through the
pursuit of knowledge. Real
knowledge is using to the
utmost benefit of all mankind
the understanding that we
have acquired.

The school has just opened up
the door of learning. It is now
your challenge to apply and
practice what you have
learned, and to continue to
seek all elements of truth.

It is my hope that each student
from this school will contribute
to himself, his family, his
church and to his country, an
important way of life. I have
full confidence in you and in
your possibilities."

HAROLD R. JOHNSON,
Principal

It is not often in this life that we have the privilege of knowing and
•working closely with a family that has affected us for good as has the family
of J. Philip Hanks, our Mission President from July 19ol to July 19^5 • This
dedicated man and his lovely wife have given us their warm hearts, their
"boundless energies, their devoted service, and their massive testimony of the
truthfulness :of the Restored Gospel. The faculty and studentbody take pride
in dedicating the I965 ATA LAFOIA to President and Sister Hanks.
